How it Works
Our Advanced Board & Train Program takes your dog beyond the basics. They’ll stay with us full-time, receiving 24/7 care, structure, and expert training. You’ll also be invited to visit and work with your dog throughout the program so you feel confident and connected. (Visitation schedule varies—reach out for details.)
Requirements
- Must be at least 5 months old
- All vaccinations must be current
What Your Dog Will Learn
Our advanced obedience program focuses on four main things: basic commands, house manners, exposure, and group training.
Basic Commands (On and Off Leash)
We’ll teach your dog:
- Sit – sit down.
- Heel – walk beside you on your left side, no pulling.
- Here – come when called.
- Place – go to their bed or mat and stay there.
- Off – get down or remove themselves.
- Leave it – ignore what they’re focused on.
House Manners
Your dog will learn structure at home. They’ll know to be either:
- On their bed,
- Engaged with you (playtime, cuddles, training),
- Or in their crate.
This helps avoid problems like jumping on guests or getting into things they shouldn’t. We set the routine here so they come home ready to behave.
Worried About Crate Time?
Totally understandable. But crates aren’t punishment—they’re safe spots. Dogs actually like having a cozy place to rest. With your help, they’ll also get plenty of play and freedom. It’s all about balance! We will be sure to cover this topic with you, bring all of your questions to us!
Exposure Training
Your dog will experience new places, sights, and sounds to help them build confidence. We want them to be calm and well-behaved no matter what’s happening around them.
Group Training
Your dog will work alongside other dogs, learning to focus on you, even with distractions. They’ll master walking with another dog, ignoring other dogs nearby, and responding only to your command.
The Difference Between Our Basic and Advanced Program
In this program, we ditch the leash. Your dog will walk right by your side, perfectly behaved, without needing to be tethered to you. That’s next-level obedience.
Off-Leash Confidence with E-Collar Training
We teach your dog to listen to you—not just the collar. The E-collar helps reinforce your voice commands when distractions pop up. It’s not about control, it’s about safety and trust.
Think of it like this: You’re at the park, your dog sees a rabbit, and starts to bolt. One quick tap on the collar and a command, and they’re back at your side. That’s the power of solid training.
And don’t worry—it’s introduced the right way. Most dogs are excited to wear it because they know it’s time to work and have fun. We will teach YOU how to operate the collar the correct way.
Potty Training
Yes, we cover potty training! But it’s not just about teaching them not to have accidents in the house, it’s about setting routines and boundaries. In our program, they’ll learn a structure that prevents accidents. Once they go home, sticking to that routine will keep everything on track.
Your Role Matters
We’ll do most of the training, but for it to really stick—you’ve got to be part of it. After the foundation is set, we’ll bring you into a few sessions so you feel confident continuing things at home. And if things ever get rusty, our Tune-Up Program is always here to help.
